Literary Mashup #3

"-Money...? in a voice that rustled.
-Paper, yes.
-And we'd never seen it. Paper money.
-We never saw paper money till we came east.
-It looked so strange the first time we saw it. Lifeless.
-You couldn't believe it was worth a thing.
-Not after Father jingling his change.
-Those were silver dollars.
-And silver halves, yes and quarters, Julia. The ones from his pupils. I can hear him now...
Sunlight, pocketed in a cloud, spilled suddenly broken across the floor through the leaves of the trees outside.
-Coming up the veranda, how he jingled when he walked."

...And the clock waits patiently on your song

beaunoise's white mystery tape

Ça l'avait bien surpris quand à demi endormi, Sex with a man de Zeigenbock Kopf avait démarré à plein volume...

Howl

I prefer the Bob Dylan & The Band's version but look at this video!

Also, just finished watching Howl (2010) and went on IMDb to look up some facts and I found this posted on the message board:

That's so awesome! I love it.
I laughed when McIntosh said something along the lines of, "I don't quite understand that."

So?

I'm better than you.

So I felt like posting it on iMDb because we're all going to die anyway so it doesn't matter.
With that said, what did you do today?

Re: Published in Heaven
by sirmalker (Sun Feb 6 2011 05:35:58)
I don't really believe in living or dying, so your point is moot. Today is yesterday now... I think I slept and went for a troll in the park. - And got high in my living room and wept tears for several eternals. And the music was everywhere.
What did you do?

I'm better than you.

UPDATED Sun Feb 6 2011 13:25:41
I started my period and ate a bunch of cookies, slept til 1. I watched a black man on television laying his hands on people and taking away debts and pimples. I watched Jersey Shore and felt like I was smarter than all those trolls. I did my Junior College math homework and wondered if Snookie could solve and graph an inequality. Then I realized, especially on iMDB, that "rampant intellectualism is a coping mechanism" because I read "Survivor" this weekend and I'm reading "Invisible Monsters" now. I usually watch a bunch of movies on Megavideo, but my eye was twitching from the computer screen so I read. I got on the internet to look up "ennui" from IM because it was also used in "Survivor". Then I came here.

So you're on your period, eh? - That's cool.
- And you shouldn't be watching TV, it rapes your soul.

I'm better than you.

It sucks balls. The perimetrium of my uterus is pushing the eggs out. It's reckless abandonment of would-be children in the trash; had they been fertilized. And I have cramps that make me want chocolate make me feel fat make me pissed off make me hungry again. I got soul but I'm not a soldier.

Re: Published in Heaven
by sirmalker (Sun Feb 6 2011 23:41:51)
I often think of the times when I didn't have a body, it was all good times and fun times and most of all, no times. - Such a waste of things held in great value by those unfortunate many. - They all think it's so important. - I hope they never get the chance to be robots and prove me wrong in their physical reality. My divine logic shouldn't be contested with fabricated views and robotic limbs. It's just not right.

Reggae got soul, ya now.

I'm better than you.

The only absolute is that they were going to die. And by acknowledging them, we have killed them. They have an audience in the trash, and the audience gives them life; they are martyrs, my little children.

It's all just symptoms. Symptoms symptoms symptoms. It's layer-cake for the masses, dude. - And for those who think they're not masses or are a symptom of the masses. - It's never gonna end. - Even when it ends, it's still gonna be just a lie for your eyes.

I'm better than you."

All The Kurts Of The Universe

Well I was reading this interview of J Mascis in The Guide where he had to choose his favourite recent guitarists. One of them was Kurt Vile and I have to say I do like his album quite a lot (we're still on a first date basis but I think there might be more to it). Only worry, the voice. As good as it is, it's doppelgänger J Mascis. I suppose there is nothing (not much) wrong with that.

Kurt Vile - On Tour (2011)

Also from the same interview, but especially for the album cover (although I'm not sure if it's actually funny or if I'm becoming Butthead), Lecherous Gaze. They do have some good songs. Nothing new, but the solos...

Back in the Village, a mixtape by theofflinepeople.blogspot.com

The fog is still heavy and I’m a bit out of breath. I thought I did alright but now I realise I must have taken a wrong turn near the boulder and got further in the wood rather than near the bank of the river. Now I’ve got to get back some way and find a high point by the river to get a clear view. I bet the North Star is already up and I’m not gonna find my way if I carry on wandering around. I better settle down here but I need to play it quietly. God knows where they are now. I’ll set off early and go up to the gorge. I’ll get a good spot and find a clear view. Won’t miss them, there’s only one way to go on that river. It’s not good to be here right now. I’ll get up with the first light in the morning or even earlier. I can’t be that far from the bank of the river. I better not mess around and take a clean shot that’s all I need. My eyes are blurred with sweat and I’m tired of having been running around. I can’t believe this lot. Just got it wrong I guess. I better get a few hours sleep or I’m not gonna shoot right I know it. God that was bad but I think I’m having a bit of luck. The fog is getting thinner soon I’ll see a few stars. I’ll just settle down by that tree and close my eyes for a while. It really went wrong and I better fix it. I know I’ll fix it. I wish I could have a bit more practice with that shotgun but that would just scare them away. Bought it brand new last week but you never know when it’s gonna jam. Alright, I better sleep. I know I’ll do fine.

It smells of damp. So cold I’m shivering. The stars are up and I can see a line of morning in the horizon. That’s when I need to be focused. I know where I am. I’m not even far from the gorge. I’ll be there before the sun is up and when I’m done with it I’ll be back in no time in Aintry. Won’t take me long. I better make a move or I’m gonna miss them. They’ll be on that river, won’t they? Just have to find that good spot with a clear view.
